Thanks for taking care of the place this past weekend #Etherlan !!!
Q:Why do you guys do Movember but nothing for breast cancer awareness in October?
We’ve answered this question a couple times, so maybe go back to last year in our posts and you’ll find a full answer (from last Movember), but for now…
The things that we do here depend a lot (not 100%) on who’s working here. I likes concerts, Kev likes barbecuing, Don enjoys sports. The interactions between students and volunteers are very much the same way - Nick is a gamer, Isaac tinkers with gadgets, Herman loves playing pool…
We believe in allowing staff to build up their strengths by making them a part of their ministry.
That being said (haha)…
I’m is really into Movember. It’s fun, brings people together, and let’s face it…I’m a hipster :P So when the opportunity came up a few years ago, we thought “hey, why not!”
If we brought on a staff member, or even a volunteer, that wanted to start something interactive to get the community involved with breast cancer awareness, we’d totally be into that idea! Guess we’re just waiting on God to bring that person to us (maaaybe it’s you???)
MO SISTAS UNITE!
As another MOvember approaches, we’re getting the usual question; “I’m a girl, can I join?” And the answer is most definitely YES!
1. Create a personal account [here]
2. Join our official team [here]
3. Send a finger-stache-selfie to Hebb
4. Raise awareness by getting people to donate!
*Starting November 1st
That’s it! Simple, community building, cancer fighting, hair growing, fun :)
